Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 4 in China last week with impressive specs such as a Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 108 MP camera and 50W wireless charging. Today, Xiaomi revealed that the flagship phone comes with another impressive feature called Smart Charging that protects the phone’s battery from damage when overcharged.
A few months ago, Xiaomi was seen testing a feature called MIUI Battery Health Indicator, which apparently shows the estimated health of the battery. The feature is similar to Apple’s Battery Health feature and was first introduced on the Redmi Note 10. Now, the new smart charging feature complements the previous battery feature but is currently exclusive to the newly launched Xiaomi Mix 4.
According to Xiaomi, this function will intelligently learn the daily charging habits and timely charging and discharging behaviors of Xiaomi MIX 4. Based on long-term data, this function will adjust the battery, thereby improving the health of the battery
In fact, when the feature is turned on from the settings, it will learn the charging time at night and the discharging time in the morning through AI. As a result, this feature will allow the device to charge comfortably during the night and once the device wakes up, it will intentionally transfer the charge to ensure that it is fully charged in the morning. In the long run, the smart charging feature will prevent the battery from aging quickly.
The Mi Mix 4 comes with a 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display. It has a triple rear camera system with a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP periscope lens and a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera unit. It is powered by a Snapdragon 888+ SoC with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. It packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
